For proof of English Proficiency, do I need to provide official TOEFL/IELTS/DuoLingo scores with my application?

English Proficiency requirements and instructions can be found on the Graduate College's website.  With the exception of DuoLingo, applicants provide self-reported scores during the application process. Because there is not an option to fill in DuoLingo scores on the application, those scores will need to be sent to the University using the guidelines on the website linked above.  Additionally, the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology admissions, the strongest international applicants will have combined TOEFL scores greater than 100, IELTS scores greater than 7 with no subscore less than 6.5, or DuoLingo scores greater than 120.

Please note: Should an international applicant be recommended for admission based on self-reported or unofficial scores, the International Admissions office will not be able to process admission until official scores are received.  Additional questions about English Proficiency Requirements and waivers should be directed to internationalgrad@uiowa.edu
